What can I say? It was a bright sunny afternoon and so there were lots of people out enjoying the activities in Eastrop Park. I have to say that this was possibly the windiest concert I have ever had the pleasure to play at. Everyone in the band was armed with plenty of pegs and magnets in an attempt to keep the music on place on the stand. You certainly had to develop a cunning technique of keeping one foot on your stand feet to stop that blowing over, whilst keeping the other foot on top of the spare music whilst at the same time attempting to peg and unpeg your music in the middle of a gale!! Oh! and dont forget not to drop your instrument in the process!!!
Numerous stands were blown over, one stand actually snapped and I managed to lose all my music, most of which was caught by a combination of the trombone and percussion sections!
Only one of my pieces of music made it into the Lake but after pegging it to the stand it soon dried out in the wind!
Next event is the Hannington Country Fair, always a fantastic day out and I cannot recommend it highly enough!
